Calypso Farm & Ecology Center will host its Fall Harvest Festival on Sunday, marking the nonprofit farm’s final public gathering of the year. The free, family-friendly event runs from noon to 4 p.m. at the farm’s location on Old Nenana Highway.
Visitors can expect a lineup built around the season’s bounty, including apple taste-testing, fresh cider pressing, and a seed-saving demonstration led by one of the farm’s founders. Food will also be on hand, with fresh donuts and pizza available throughout the afternoon.
The festival closes out a summer of hands-on programming at Calypso Farm, which operates as an educational nonprofit focused on local food production and environmental awareness in Interior Alaska. The farm has drawn national attention in recent years for its work on subarctic agriculture and Indigenous-led farming initiatives.
Admission to Sunday’s event is free, and organizers are encouraging Fairbanks-area families to stop by before the farm’s outdoor season winds down for the year.
